B. Tech. Dairy Technology,a unique engineering course in the field of milk and milk products offers numerous career opportunities for students pursuing this course. Being a multidisciplinary degree programmecomprising of courses dealing with the technology, engineering, science, financial, management and extension aspects ofproduction, processing and marketing of milk and milk products it shapes the student to be a competent person to cater the needs of dairy industry as well as the allied food industries. Its multidisciplinary nature also makes the students proficient enough to pursue higher studies in diverse fields.A graduate in dairy technology is eligible foremployment in Government, QuassiGovernment institutions, banks, cooperatives and private sector industries.Some of the central and state government jobs those are open for a B.Tech. Dairy Technology graduate include the posts of dairy extension officers, food safety officers. Scope for higher education include

Eligibility for admission:

B.Tech. Programme:Admission to the B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) course is regulated by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations of Kerala (CEE) through Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subject with at least 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission.

Mode of selection and admission:

B.Tech. Dairy Technology: Admission to the B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) course is regulated by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations of Kerala (CEE) through Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam (KEAM) and ICAR through the AIEEA-UG entrance examination.

Seat reservations:

80% of the total UG seats are filled from the list issued by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. 15% seats are reserved for ICAR candidates and 5% seat for the backward Meghalaya tribes. Supernumerary to this there are two seats for students with diploma who will be directly admitted to the third semester.
